So this is how adulthood is to be christened–with too many shirts, none of them nice enough,
and loneliness lurking around every corner of this empty city
with familial isolation, more differance

and most notably
without you
(in the plural)

people paddleboard outside my window
and I haven’t the foggiest why I am here.

So the postmates/pho/jumble line comes from this advertising campaign Postmates was doing that I kept seeing all around, where they’d say something like “when all you can pho is think about”. I realize that I definitely needed to explain this reference, since I think this same summer Postmates was acquired by Uber while I was interning at Uber.

And then “differance”, I picked up from Danielewski’s House of Leaves (fantastic experimental novel, thanks Chandrew!), which I guess means something like difference and deferral of meaning. I think it’s a nice word.
