ramen rachel

James Bowden

i went to a ramen place with my family today. colorado avenue. coulda cut the tension with a knife, if I had a knife that big or strong. some pop music started playing. beautiful mistakes, or something. some post malone. something somewhat somber in a catchy way. thought of you. missed you. remembered our drives, calm nights, your playlist, your smile, your blankets waiting patiently. every indication of real. every brain cell believing it. two words that I can’t seem to reconcile: family, and choice.
