Resonance

So. I’ve really started enjoying this Dermot piece, “Something to Someone”. There are some nice lines here. The heart is but a winding road, and particularly relatable, I get scared of the dark and I, never even noticed rooms, were made bright by you, he has a few lines to this effect, like something in another song about maybe I’ve lost count of the rooms you’re tall in, dancing under circular ceiling, all the embraces we’ve been in, and so on.

Particularly though, I’ve been really stuck on Bon Iver’s “Heavenly Father” both in its rhythmic acapella wonderfulness and in its lyric message. Try it. I’d like to get more into this kind of creative, artistic voice as instrument type thing that Caroline Shaw also plays with.

“Relax”, Ellen Bass

This poem really just breaks my heart clean and sticks it back together. Juice. Strawberries. Love. As if anything else matters.

I think I really like the grainy quality of low voices, of a male voice cracking in emotion, of humming vibrations. It all feels very soothing and almost religious of sorts, which is funny in this context. Vibrate.
