Having a Poem with You

I wanted to try writing my own ekphrastic poem after reading Rilke’s masterpiece, but wasn’t hit with the proper opportunity until I happened to be brought along to an acapella concert–I’d never really engaged with acapella at all before, and the experience, well, just read the poem.

The acapella group is The Chanticleers, and I thought they were great as someone who has never heard acapella before. Not that this is at all an acceptable proxy for sitting in an auditorium watching them live and having the spatial audio, but here’s a video of them performing Ave Maria.
